Origin/Historical Background
Historically the clan came from the East and settled first under the famous Otuke Hill/Mountain thereafter disintegrated into three fronts under different leadership as indicated below;
- Won Ongole: He separated and went through Dokolo, Aduku, Cawente and eventually settled in Namasale.
- Adonyo: He passed via Ngeta hills and went to Alito, Anyomorem, Amuca up to Apii.
- Okello Wot Agita: For him he went through Omoro came to Erute South, Amac and settled in Akalo.
FORMER CLAN CHIEF
Late Mzee George William Opio Oling
was the pioneer cultural chief who led the clan through thick amd thin. He was able to unite the clan and led the process of registration of the clan with the Lango cultural foundation. Today Otengoro Olang Okwer Wang is one of the over 140 recognised clans in lango. He was deputised by
Mr. Ogwang David Charles and a host of key clan executives. As the new leadership we salute them for the work they did to hold the clan together amidst difficulties.

KWER: Kwer ame tekere man kwero obedo wang otino kede Agara (olang) otweo ityen atin tung cem ikare ame atin tye ikor.

We collaborate and coordinate with local, regional, and national partners in service of our community.

Otengoro Olang Okwer Wang key strategic objectives
- Acquire land and construct a central home for the clan to coordinate all clan activities.
- Register a SACCO for the clan to facilitate and inculcate the culture of savings and borrowing and investments in order to eliminate poverty in our homes.
- Acquire an ambulance for the clan to facilitate safe delivery of our mothers hence reducing maternal mortality rate.
- Relatedly we shall conduct regular health camps to address the high rate of diseases among the clan members.
- Registration of all clan members to acquire IDs which will help us eliminate child marriages and teenage pregnancy and incest.
- Increase the access and participation of grassroots in Government developmental projects and partnership support.
- Enable transparency, accountability, social cohesion and evidenced-based good governance of all what we do such as, budget support, assets management, archives, records, published information, and the symbolic inheritance of the clan through institutional management, regulation and development.
- Revive Agriculture through modern methods of farming and famer field visits to best farmers to reduce on subsistence farming and poverty in the households.
- Rally all the clan members to embrace education for all policy. No child of school going age will be allowed to stay at home without attending school. We shall put in place bylaws to address that.
- Creativity and innovation by way of developing the intellectual property and capacity of our clan members.
- Harness all form of support through development of projects and partnerships to reduce the poverty levels among clan members.
